So far I have only read the first book, Switched but I look forward to reading the next two books (Torn and Ascend). I was fascinated by the Trylle mythology: How they lived, the monarchy, their custom of switching babies at birth. It was absolutely creative and original. The main character, Wendy Everly has a big personality. She's had a difficult, traumatic childhood, but that has only made her stronger. The characters were developed with extra thought, and easily relatable. I recommend reading this book, it is fun-thrilled and always surprises you.
The first line of the book was "A couple things made that day stand out more than any other: it was my sixth birthday, and my mother was wielding a knife."
As soon as I read this, I was captivated. I was curious about why Wendy's mother wa s weilding a knife and I was sure to know more.
Quote from the book
“I wanted to show you that it's not all cold and intimidating," Finn explained. "I wanted you to see something warm and beautiful."
